Benefits of Dental Sedation

Sedation dentistry offers patients a variety of benefits, including:

  • Pain-free dental care
  • Anxiety relief
  • Reduction of the gag reflex
  • Quick and safe treatment

Using dental sedation, we are able to perform multiple treatments in just one visit. Because patients are relaxed under sedation, our team can be more efficient.

Sedation dentistry can also benefit patients with dental fear or anxiety, low tolerances for pain, or a phobia of needles, blood, or loud noises. If you have any of these conditions or want a more comfortable dental experience, call our office for a consultation. We will provide accommodations for you or your loved one.

What is Oral Sedation?

Oral conscious sedation is taken in pill form. Patients take this sedation at home so that they feel relaxed during their procedure.  This type of sedation allows patients to be responsive yet fully comfortable during treatment. Some patients may even fall asleep while sedated, and many have little to no memory of the procedure. Oral sedation can take time to become effective and wear off, which is why we recommend that patients be driven to and from their appointment.
