Our office welcomes children and our team makes every effort to provide a safe, comfortable environment for your child’s oral health care. We teach our young patients the importance of keeping their teeth and gums healthy and demonstrate age-appropriate oral hygiene so that they can learn how to care for their smile between visits.

Dr. Hewgley recommends that parents and caregivers bring children in for an initial visit as soon as their primary teeth are visible, or earlier if there are other concerns related to their oral development.

Your First Visit: What To Expect

When you visit with us for the first time, Dr. Hewgley will take the time to evaluate all aspects of your smile during a dental exam and consultation. She will explain her findings and any recommended treatment for addressing existing dental concerns.

During the visit, we will screen for tooth decay, periodontal disease, the signs of oral cancer and any other oral health related problems including TMJ related disorders. If time allows, a dental cleaning will be performed by one of our trained dental hygienists.
